NCTE is committed to producing events where everyone may learn and network in an environment of inclusion and mutual respect. With this in mind, the CCCC Convention provides gender-inclusive restrooms in our rented space within the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. In addition, we have taken another step forward in our inclusivity efforts: Educational signage has been added as a result of our partnership with Creating Change/The National LGBTQ Task Force, an organization at the leadership forefront of these issues. The signage is available near each gender-inclusive restroom, as well as here and in the Convention app. Note that in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, we are only permitted to modify signage on family restrooms and those that are licensed to us. We will continue to learn together, and we welcome all feedback as we plan for ongoing improvement at future conventions.
For more information, including details on what to do in the event a disruptive situation occurs, please see the Mutual Respect Anti-Harassment Policy on page 21 of the Convention Program.
